  Life's not a race
Everyone moves at their own pace,
Remember that life is not a race.
So don't rush to make it to the finish line.
And don't worry about your peers leaving you behind.
Don't worry about how old you are.
Don't feel bad, because you don't have a car.
Don't get angry because you don't have a house,
And don't cry because you don't have a spouse.
Even if you don't have a dime.
You will achieve everything in due time.
The turtle was slow but it still came first.
The hare moved swiftly but still came last.
It's never too late to start your transition.
Remember, it's up to you to make things happen.

 Heart and brain
I am standing at the crossroads, looking for a sign.
I am trying to convince my brain and my heart to leave you behind.
I am trying to evict the memories of you from my brain.
But no matter how hard I try, they still remain.
My blood gets hot as it flows through my veins when I think of our lovemaking.
When I finally get the thought of leaving you my heart starts aching.
It feels like both are in the ring, and I'm the referee.
Trying to make a decision, but they're making it hard for me.
My brain says, "Go."
My heart says, "no."
I'm feeling like a yo-yo,
Because I really don't know.
You are not making it easy either,
Because you keep telling me that we are right for each other.
My heart is trying to convince me that you will change in due time,
But I am promising my heart that without you we will be fine.
